The Field Operations Section is responsible to assure that all new roadway
construction, as well as any other construction that affects roadways under the jurisdiction of Broward County is
performed safely, meets Broward County construction standards, and results in minimum inconvenience to the general public.
Tasks performed to meet these objectives include issuance of construction permits, review of construction plans, providing
for a safe flow of traffic near construction sites, and inspection of construction operations to assure that work is
performed safely and properly.
The types of projects that Field Operations personnel oversee include new roadway
construction, roadway resurfacing and installation of water, sewer and utilities that
impact existing roadways.
