Why isn't a 2007 license number in the web Pet License Information
Database?
There are three steps for the license information to be included in the
web database and there could be three reasons why it is not available.
- We did not receive the rabies certificate from the veterinarian. Some
veterinarians mail us the rabies certificates every few weeks, some take
longer. Once we receive the rabies certificate, we enter the current
information into the Division's computer database.
- Data entry staff has not entered the information into the computer
database because we have a backlog of certificates to enter. There are times
when we receive thousands of certificates in a short period and cannot enter
the information fast enough.
- There is one more step before the license information will be
available on the web database. Computer staff takes the current information
from the Division's computer database then transfers this information into the
web database. Staff updates the web database on a regular basis and it may be
possible the 2007 license information will be included in the next update.
Even if the license information is not available on the web database, we
can still find the information the old fashioned way by finding the actual
rabies certificate in our files or in the veterinarian's files.
